Partner Letter August 2011

Dear Partner

What an awesome thing Jesus did for us when He paid the price for our lives on the cross. We have been looking at His words in John 19:30,

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

IT IS FINISHED!

In our previous letters we have been looking at 7 major things that were finished at the moment Jesus said it.
To summarise:

1)         The Curse of the Law was finished (Galatians 3:13-14).

Say it out loud, “It Is Finished… I am BLESSED!”

2)         Death (2 Timothy 1:9-10, John 11:26).

Declare out loud, “It is Finished… I LIVE for eternity”

3)         Sickness & Disease (1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:4-5).

Shout it out, “It is Finished… I AM HEALED!”

4)         Poverty and Lack (2 Corinthians 8:9, Philippians 4:19).

Shout out loud, “It is Finished… I AM FULLY PROVIDED”

5)         Shame & injustice (1 Peter 2:6 & Romans 10:11)

Say it loud, say it bold, “It is Finished… I AM FREE FROM SHAME!”

6)         Sin as an irresistible force (Hebrews 9:26, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 8:2)

Shout it out as loud as you can, “It is Finished... I AM FREE FROM THE FORCE OF SIN”.

Hallelujah!

The last point we see in this series is that one of the greatest things finished on the cross was alienation from God.

That’s right… Jesus paid the price that you and I can once and for all be reconciled to God.  We see this in Romans 5:10-11,

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Our sin drove us far from God, but Jesus paid the full price removing forever the barrier that has kept us separate from God and bringing us back into fellowship with Him.  Ephesians 2:13,

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Shout it out “It is Finished… I AM RECONCILED TO GOD”

Now Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 that we have the privilege of leading others to this reconciliation as well,

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

That’s what we are doing; we are proclaiming the word of reconciliation all over the world.  And every seed you sow is ensuring that this Gospel of reconciliation is preached.  Think of that; as you sow your seed this month you are working with God to reconcile men and women to Himself.

And according to Galatians 6:6-7; God will ensure that whatever you sow, you shall reap.

Enjoy walking in the reconciliation of God… IT IS FINISHED!

Janine and I stand in agreement with the Word of God, and with you, by praying for you every day.

Walk in His Blessing!

Jesus is Lord,
